‘Tis the season for family gatherings when people travel from near and far to celebrate. While this time of year is filled with joy, many travelers find themselves stretched near the limit when it comes time to pack….the gifts, personal items and if you have kids, their necessities while anticipating items to keep them occupied (aka TOYS). If there is an infant in the mix there is even MORE to think about!

I just happen to be describing my own personal experience. Go figure! In the midst of our pre-holiday festivities we also planned to attend a destination wedding. We were able to hire a local babysitter to help but still had the questions of what would they do while we were attending the wedding and where would the baby sleep? As fate would have it, BabyQuip came to our rescue!

Specifically designed for families traveling with small children, BabyQuip lets you skip having to pack the bulky kid items. They connect you with local providers from whom you can rent a variety of items that would otherwise be difficult to pack. Individual items vary by provider but may include a full size crib, bassinet, pack n play or toddler bed, diapering or potty essentials, customizable book and toy packages based on age and gender, safety and travel items such as car seats, carriers and strollers, dining accessories and even snacks. Regionally specific items may also be available if you are visiting the beach or mountains. Basically, any gear you don’t want to pack you have a good chance of being able to borrow!  BabyQuip is available throughout the United States and Canada.

Traveling with a a toddler, I knew that I wanted a selection of toys to keep her entertained and a bassinet for the baby. Bonus that my selected provider had a sound machine available! To make things easier, I opted to include diapers and wipes. All these were conveniently delivered to the resort where we were staying and delivered to our room by the bell service.

Our BabyQuip delivery

Upon delivery, Olivia immediately tore into the boxes of toys and was beyond thrilled to have fresh playthings. We received a variety of books, dolls, musical instruments, educational items and a ride-on toy. With so many new toys to explore, I don’t think she missed us once! Her favorite by far was a sing along Ariel doll that she also took to bed. Baby Tala enjoyed the Halo bassinet as she slept soundly through the night and woke up all smiles. In addition to all these wonderful items, our provider included a special welcome gift with bath and diapering items and a first aid kit, perfect for travel. At the conclusion of our stay, our provider returned at a prearranged time to pick everything up and whisked it away. We were able to check out easily and at a leisurely pace.

The whole process was simple and the website very user friendly. In case you aren’t web savvy or would prefer to delegate, the BabyQuip team is available to help organize your needs based upon your suggestions. Many providers off free pickup from their location and delivery to yours for a nominal fee. We travel several times each year and this is going to be a game changer. Thanks BabyQuip for inviting us to try out your service!
