New from Disney Branded Television, SuperKitties will pounce their way to a screen near you on Wednesday , January 11 simulcast with Disney Channel, Disney Jr., Disney+ and also available at DisneyNOW.  Each episode features two 11-minute stories where the pawtastic SuperKitties thwart evildoers and impart messages of kindness, bravery and teamwork.

We were invited to take an early look at the first episode and immediately fell in love with the furry foursome with their glittery eyes and pawsitive problem solving skills!  Each kitty brings their own special skills to the team, showing how important it is to work together.  And while the kitties claws do come out to fight crime, their emphasis on empathy and encouraging the “villains” to right their wrongs is a fresh look at what being a winner/loser might also mean.

The lessons are so simple for littles to understand.  When our heroes tell the villain what they did was wrong, they also model cooperative or creative ways to “fix” the problem in an actionable way, rather than tossing the villain to the police or forcing an apology that goes nowhere.  I think it is a great way to show kids that their are consequences for actions, but also inspire alternative ways to correct behavior.
