I don’t know about you, but any chance I get to represent a superhero, I will take it! And with San Diego Comic Con happening now, it’s as good a time as any.

Last week, I was invited to attend the InfoList PreComic-Con event at Ohm Nightclub in Hollywood. It provided the opportunity for comic lovers, sci-fi enthusiasts and film fans to come together to celebrate that which we all love – entertainment. I’m definitely not a purist when it comes to adaptations of any kind and there are certainly more dedicated fans than I. However, just being in the company of this very diverse group of people I felt welcomed and included.

It could have partly been thanks to the fabulous Captain America dress from Her Universe. At 6 months pregnant, it can be difficult to find appropriate attire for such a special event, but these gals (and guys) nailed it. I mean, Cap is my guy! And before you ask, no this is not a maternity dress….find it in your regular dress size and flaunt it. I can’t tell you how many compliments I received on this little number. It’s so cute, super comfortable (very important right now) and subtle enough that non-comic savvy friends will appreciate the patriotism if nothing else.

The carpet crawled with cosplayers, lucky fans, celebrities, artists and producers. Half the fun is seeing who is going to show up! The excitement around the party was palpable and buzz tingled in my veins long after the drive home.

See my Instagram post for some highlights of the night!

I definitely wish I was heading down for the weekend.

Are you attending Comic Con this year? Let me know what you’re looking forward to seeing and grab some new reading material for me! While you’re down there, be sure to check out the Her Universe geek couture fashion show on Thursday 6pm at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel. I have already found some items that I need to add to my fangirl wardrobe!
