This week marked a wonderful and exciting event for me. But first, a bit of back story. Earlier this year, I had a job with a production company for an industrial for a new drug. I was nervous going into it because it was my first shoot with a teleprompter. I knew how they worked in theory and had only tried them out at auditions. But never on a job. Turns out, they were all very impressed with my skills that day. I’m sure the fact that we were able to get through the shoot in less time than they had allotted was a plus, as well. But they were all great, very supportive and said they were interested in using me again for future projects. And they kept their word.

Based purely on that experience, the production company booked me for a job in Philadelphia this past week! The shoot itself was in Blue Bell, PA, so I got to see some really nice countryside on the way there. They provided for my travel, hotel room, meals, transportation, me, plus gave me some walkin’ around money. Again, it was for a new drug (meaning lots of technical words and numbers) and they had the teleprompter all set up. Again, we were able to finish earlier than they had planned, thereby making EVERYONE happy!

Once the shoot was over, we stepped out of the studio and into the snow. Yes, it was that cold! Fortunately, it wasn’t snowing in Philadelphia that night, but it was still around 30 degrees. A friend of mine from my OC days is currently living in DC and he came up for the evening. We went out to dinner at a cozy restaurant, then walked around Rittenhouse Park (I don’t recommend that on a freezing night), went to Independence Hall and saw the Liberty Bell.

Snow in Philadelphia came the next morning and all flights were delayed out of the airport. Luckily enough, I brought a backup book! Sadly, it was a fast 600 pages and I was nearly finished by the time the plane actually took off. Luckily, the plane took off in time for me to make my connection (with about 2 minutes to spare). Sadly, I had no time to get a backup book for my backup book. Luckily, one of the in-flight movie choices was one I wanted to see! Sadly, I was on the aisle and had to keep getting up for the guy next to me. Luckily, he bought me M&Ms. Sadly, there were very strong headwinds so we were late getting into SF. Luckily, I made it! Sadly, I was 30 seconds late for the train and had to wait for the next one. Luckily, my car was fine and I made it home to pizza! Sadly, I woke up at 7:30 this morning.

Luckily, I’m somewhat successful at what I do.
